QE St Pete is a volunteer-run community organization that started in 2022 and as of 2024 has grown into a group of around 15 volunteers who maintain our physical space and programming.

Central to our organizing structure is the refusal to become a 501(c)(3), which allows us to prioritize horizontal organization and liberatory programming. 

Everybody behind QE is committed to building safe, intimate, accessible grassroots spaces outside of larger institutions funded by megacorporations. We encourage community (with an emphasis on youth) to create their own initiatives, make decisions, and express themselves free of expectation. 

As a baseline, all of our events are donation-based: payment is never required. Everybody is always welcome regardless of their financial situation. Alongside this, many of our events are about resource-swapping, fueled by our prioritization of mutual aid.

We heal by looking after the most vulnerable. By nurturing Queer and trans bodies and minds, we subvert systems that seek to harm and traumatize them. Pursuing this as a collective has opened us up to radical healing and community care rooted in an organizational model that prioritizes solidarity.
